Starting the new year with a blog and some goals!!!

Ever have one of those days where you have so much in your brain and a different idea keeps popping up in your head? That is what happens to me at the beginning of each month, so imagine the beginning of a new year. I am so energized and recharged that I want to do so much all at once. That’s what got me thinking, maybe writing it down could help document these thoughts. Most of my thoughts are about what I want to photograph next, or what type of shoot I want to try, how I want to improve my sessions, and what I can do to capture EVERYTHING my kids do so I never forget these precious times….

Cherry Blossom with my babies

From my previous blog posts you can see how much I love taking picture of my two kiddies, but I absolutely have to take advantage of spring time when Cherry blossom trees arrive. With the busy work load and kids activities, I couldn’t get to the beautiful trees at Branch Brook Park, but at 4PM on a Thursday evening I shot out of my room and told my self its now or next year. The trees would die soon and I had to make it out there. By 5:30PM I had my daughter ready, and my niece in my car on the way to the beautiful park. The hustle and bustle of making it there was definitely worth it. We…

Live Laugh Love

Let me start by saying lately I have been getting into positivity and practicing daily gratitude, which has changed me and my world in so many ways. Practicing gratitude is the daily reminder to your self that everything is well and appreciation of everyone around you is essential to a healthy lifestyle. As you submerge yourself into this state of mind opportunities just come to you, whether its an opportunity to help others in need, or just noticing certain things you clearly missed before. When I got an email form this client my heart just melted. I knew this opportunity was a blessing and I had to be part of it. Here is this beautiful family that was celebrating life,…

Newborn Photography – and the beautiful views

Here is how this newborn shoot was a challenging one, but that’s what makes this so much fun. This adorable little fellow lives in Jersey City, NJ, and hes got some pretty nice views I must add. On the 3 rd floor of a beautiful building, this amazing family open their doors for me. So I kinda skipped over that challenge I mentioned earlier, but here goes. Travel newborn photographers bring everything that is needed for the shoot, so pretty much the entire studio. And yes I had to bring all of this up through a car garage next door and into the elevators, through a luggage carrier ( Fun Stuff). But my clients are always the sweetest people I…

Family Photography – Somerset NJ

Meet the Farqui family, so I have known them for a few years now through my son and I must say “serious family goals” here. The boys were so much fun to take pictures of as I got some fun shots of them three bonding. At one point two of them were arm wrestling and I kept thinking wow these kids are going to love looking back at these when they get older. Isn’t that what a photoshoot is about though, taking real and pure shots for families to look back at years from now. What I loved about this family photoshoot was that nothing was off limits, we did some posed pictures for the wall but mom also wanted…

Newborn Shoot – The Boys

I am going to call this shoot, “the boys,” as when I did  the shots with Jayce and Asher I posed the brothers so casually, like they were just hanging together.  I want the two boys to look back at the picture one day and relate to their relationship as they grew up together hanging out around the house.  The newborn shoot started with doing some shots of the two boys, and the Burberry shirts were a really nice touch I must say.  I try to gave it an all white look for them two, to give a clean and fresh look. The shoot was so much fun, it went from Harry Potter (moms a fan) to Giants theme (dads…

Magic theme birthday – New Jersey Photographer

This was definitely one amazing birthday party, and I am glad I got to be the one to photograph it.  Shane who turned 5 is one lucky birthday boy.  From a magician, to an illustration, to the very talented caricature the entertainment was endless.  The kids were having so much fun, it was a photographers dream to be there.  Events are usually fun but after some time you end up taking pictures of the same people and the same things, but with this event I didn’t know where to go first.  So much fun all around, and let me not forget the face painter and the awesome light up balloons that were being made by yet another entertainer.  The small details…

Beach Proposal – Engagement New Jersey Photographer

First of all, cheers to this super sweet couple.  I was so nervous before this shoot, even had a dream about it.  Yes that’s silly but as a photographer this is my heart and soul.  I wanted to make sure this couple got the best of the best so of course I start worrying weeks before it even happens.  Every photographers nightmare for a proposal shoot is that you miss the big wow moment.  Thanks to the bride to be’s friends and her sweet fiance, the process was as smooth as ever.  It all started with me hiding behind a bathroom and looking out for them, then I ran after them like a crazy person taking pictures of them on…

Focus on Baby Sophie – Newborn Photographer

This shoot is everything I want in a newborn shoot.  If I could go back and do my own kids photo-shoot, this is exactly how I would do it. The entire shoot was done on a newborn beanbag with different textures/colors/accessories.. and the focus was always on little baby Sophie. We even used Sophie’s little stuffed bunny, which was a gift from mommy and daddy.  The mamma also wanted a detail collage, and so I did my very first one. I took the cutest pictures of her toes to her ears and the collage is exactly how I envisioned it.  One more cute detail, we used a pink blanket in the shoot, which her grandmother made  for her.  How absolutely sweet…

Little Man Stallen – Newborn Photographer

This little man here just kept smiling.  Seriously the entire newborn shoot I caught him smiling every time I posed him.  This shoot was filled with tons of blue and some fun springy colors.  I edited the images to look airy/white/and still kept some color.  The very first picture of him on a shelf, well that was a fun one.  We tried for 10 minutes then gave up, and then did some family poses.  Then I said you know what lets try again, and first shot he did it.  And no he was not placed on an actual wall… I promise this is a completely safe pose. The family pictures have such a pretty natural feel to it, I try…
